this past thursday we took the girls to go see barney live. they LOVED it! kevyn danced the entire first half of the show. she knew all the songs and motions. it was too cute! and kelby enjoyed the show too, but she was really focused on the rainbow snow cones that the other kids had. even though we got drinks, popcorn, cotton candy and two crappy high-quality barney flashlights prior to the show, she still really needed a snow cone. it consumed her. so at intermission we got two snow cones and everyone was happy. except for mom and dad who had to deal with the sticky syrup mess everywhere.
i just found out i am no longer a sagittarius, but now an ophiuchus! what??? apparently, according to new astronomical calculations, birth dates actually align with the stars this way: Capricorn: Jan. 20-Feb. 16 Aquarius: Feb. 16-March 11 Pisces: March 11-April 18 Aries: April 18-May 13 Taurus: May 13-June 21 Gemini: June 21-July 20 Cancer: July 20-Aug. 10 Leo: Aug. 10-Sept. 16 Virgo: Sept. 16-Oct. 30 Libra: Oct. 30-Nov. 23 Scorpio: Nov. 23-29 Ophiuchus: Nov. 29-Dec. 17 Sagittarius: Dec. 17-Jan. 20
so that makes me an ophiuchus. i'm not even sure how to pronounce it... and what is it? i think i'm having an astrological identity crisis!
i sooo want one of these iphone covers! but i'm holding out on the new latest and greatest iphone. i've heard it comes out in july. my luck, the new iphone will come out exactly one day after i give in and purchase the iphone 4.
this morning jeff bought the family tickets to go see barney live next week! i can't wait to see kevyn's face when she sees barney! i attribute my kids love of barney to their babysitter who had the old vhs tapes from her grandchildren.
this year the spitzenberger christmas has been divided into two weekends due to our large family's schedule. we couldn't find one weekend that we could all meet at grand-paul's. here are a few pics from part 1 of the spitzenberger christmas.
this past friday night our family hosted a cotton bowl party and invited my sister's family as well as my parents over. we hoped we could cheer the aggies to a victory, but soon realized by about half-time that it would probably not happen. regardless, we had a great time visiting, eating and playing a little pre-game xbox kinect!
ok, i know it is january, but i've already started my search for the girls swimsuits. last year i waited until april and everything was picked over. i really didn't like what kelby ended up with. i'm pretty picky when it comes to their swimsuits. they have to be 1. cheap (the girls are so rough on them, i can't justify spending a lot of money) 2. a tankini for kelby (i like the idea of a two-piece because they are easier when it comes time to go to the bathroom, but i still want coverage) kevyn still gets a one-piece. :) and 3. straps that do not go behind the neck (i know how uncomfortable they make me, so i don't want to do that to the girls). picky, i know. so here is what i've found so far...
For Christmas, Aunt Dawn and Uncle Matt gave Kelby this I'm Not Bored Anymore Art Jar, Jr. I must say, it kept her busy for the two hours that Kevyn was napping last Sunday.
Yesterday we spent New Years with my parents, aka Granny and Poppa. It was great.. I wore sweats and makeup didn't touch my face. I love those kind of days. Kelby is getting old enough to play card games (well, kind of... she cheats a lot!) and both the girls enjoy playing Wii. One of my New Years goals is to spend more time just hanging out with family and friends, so I couldn't think of a better way to start off the new year!
